About Dr. Mauskar
Dr Melissa Mauskar is a board-certified dermatologist and Associate Professor in the Departments of Dermatology and Obstetrics and Gynecology at UT Southwestern in Dallas, Texas.
Dr Mauskar’s clinical practice is focused on women’s health dermatology: addressing changes in skin and vulvar health that occur throughout different life stages, such as puberty, pregnancy, perimenopause, and post menopause. She cares for patients with everything from acute rashes to acne, however she is an expert in treating patients with vulvar dermatoses.
Dr Mauskar’s goal is to normalize conversations around women’s health, dermatology, and vulvar skin conditions. From lichen sclerosus to hidradenitis suppurativa, Dr Mauskar is sought after by both providers and patients for her novel approach to clinical care and education.
She advocates for the professional growth and success of her colleagues through leadership roles on the Board of Directors for the Women’s Dermatologic Society and as President-elect of the North American ISSVD.
Melissa is active in clinical research and passionate about improving patient’s quality of life and health literacy. Dr Mauskar is the Founding president of the Vulvar Dermatoses Research Consortium (VDRC), an expansive group of international healthcare practitioners and trainees dedicated to advancing the field of vulvar health.
